Internet Access Policy
Access to the Internet is provided by the library as part of our mission to
serve the educational, informational, cultural, and entertainment needs of
the community. The library provides access to the world wide web via the
   Ohio Public Library Information Network.
Library Patrons are responsible for their own internet use. The
parents or legal guardians of patrons under the age of 18 may deny
access by notifying the library, and a block will be placed on the
minor patron's account. As with other library materials, it is the
patron or the parent or legal guardian of the minor patron who
assumes responsibility for supervising access to the internet
resources through the library. Parents are encouraged to work
closely with their children in selecting materials on the
internet. The library cannot be responsible for any content
provided by others on the internet.
Library computers, equipment, and connectivity are to be used for
educational, informational, and recreational purposes only.
Library resources must not be used for unauthorized, unlawful, or
unethical purposes. Unacceptable usage includes (but is not limited
to) harassment, libel, disruption or unauthorized monitoring of
private electronic communications, unauthorized copying of
copyright-protected software or data, cracking of computer systems'
security, violation of software license agreements, or display of
materials that are not suited for display in a public area where
children may be present. Since this is a public service, you may
not send, receive, or display any content that may reasonably be
construed as obscene. Patrons who make unlawful or objectionable
   use may lose internet privileges.
   Patrons may NOT install any
software on the library's computers. This
includes plug-ins, software that is brought on disk, downloaded
software, or any software at all. Patrons who bring in their own
computers or other devices and connect via the library's
wireless network may download and install software onto their own
computers at their own discretion, but the library cannot be
responsible for software downloaded from the internet.
Patrons using library computers may print at the normal price rate for copies.
Patrons are responsible for all pages printed whether anticipated or not.
